A Little Reading on the Side

In cleaning out my mailbox, I found a couple of links to articles that I had saved to share with students.  Here goes...

OK, so that should give you a few things to think about.  As always, feel free to comment.

I like it for it's ability to do good, allowing the oppressed to tell their story, without revealing who or where they may be, cause humankind will really be considered advanced when we learn to treat each other properly. .....but I thought everything (computers),all needed an address unique to go to,if the will was there to try some software that could one day break the anonymity, by recording the IP address of each sending machine, though it be a long and convoluted route......On another note, if you ever find an article about algorithms(seems they are everywhere) that's not to high-brow, please share.

On Granting Anomymity, I could not believe that the US government gave grants for that project. Could the government not see the potential harm that could be done with this software? If I was giving money to the r & d of this software, I would certainly want some say-so in the final use of the product.

It's amazing that an 18 year old was able to sell his online ad company for $40 million dollars. Then 7 years later, turn another project into a $300 million profit! He did go on to say that it came at the cost of a child hood but I think with that amount of money, he could make up for any lost. At that age, even if I could create such a project, I don't know if I could handle the turndowns they got when a project was not picked up. Just incredible!

Teenage Entrepreneurs: It is amazing that kids so young are being able to create such incredible projects and turn them around for a great profit. It is even greater that they are encouraged and even helped to develop their skills further and education stays first.

An 18 year old launching a internet company! It is truly amazing how a young person can have the confidence and knowledge of being a successful entrepreneur.
