As an IT major, one of the things that you should be doing is keeping up with technology related news. As a student in such a rapidly changing field, it isn't enough to just read your textbooks and complete your assignments. You must constantly look for information on new technologies if you wish to be competitive not only with your fellow students, but also in the job market.
So, to get you started, here are a couple of links that you can visit. Some of them are mainly computer related, some are more general technology related. Either way, they are a good start.
ZDNet Technology News
CNET Technology
Pogue's Posts Blog - New York Times
There is also a site called LifeHacker that isn't really a news site, but has lots of interesting technology related stories.
In addition to reading web sites, you might want to stop by the library on either campus. They have subscriptions to several technology related magazines.
Now your assignment... In addition to your regular weekly blog posting (due 02.09.2010) you must comment on this blog entry. Your comment must include at least one online technology news source and you must include a clickable link to the site.

There are a lot of online technology news sources.I often check out CNET Technology when looking for reviews on different hardware especially for gaming purposes. I also like to use Wired.com to check out some of the latest technology, gadgets and software. I can also check out blogs, reviews, and how to videos.
Thank you for the link information to help point us in the right direction for this class. There is a favorite that you have listed that I love to go to. Lifehackers is a great sight, and shows you more into a device, what the device can do, and many different ways you can use the device other than what it normally would be used for. I try to keep up on their articles as much as possible to know the in's and out's of a device or software that it out in today's world. The other links are well known and I use them as well. Lifehackers will give you more info than the average news article.
I visted all of the links that you posted and they all were very interesting. I like how on ZDNET it gives you the latest reviews with a picture, and it also has videos of other products.
I visited Lifehacker and did you know that Febuary 8th is National Clean Out Your Computer Day? I can't believe I did not get the memo. Anyway, I read an article that told you somes things you could do to clean your PC. One thing I found interesting was Revo Unistaller, which will completely get rid of unwanted applications.
I subscribed to ZDNet the first semester that I got into college at ECC. This site is a wealth of knowledge for IT Specialists. http://news.zdnet.com/ is a great site and I have used all the sites in the blog.
Alright my Comment is a day late and a dollar shot but I wanted to add it here in response to Mr. Cherry's e-mail. So far I fail at blogging. I never remember and while I talk alot in class I don't have much to say in a blog. For my technology news site I'll use one I had to use for multiple reports and it was http://www.eweek.com/ .
The website isn't the best in the world, alittle cluttered but I do like the information it provides and not only the current news but it is good for researching problems.
